DENISE LAFORTUNE

Denise brings over 25 years of extensive experience combined with a teaching style that both demands and inspires the highest achievements from her students. A registered teacher for the Royal Academy of Dance, Miss Denise has successfully trained dancers to reach their fullest potential in graded and vocational examinations.

Denise is also proud to have created and directed the ballet focused school, Academy of Classical Ballet.

Her extensive training includes Goh Ballet Vancouver, Choo Chiat Goh, Chun Che Vancouver Academy of Music and Dance, Soo nee Lee and Mara McBirney. Master classes and intensive training with prominent guest artists such as Karen Kain, Celia Franca, David Maroni, Melissa Hayden, Jeff Hyslop and Ronald Rabu.

Travelled the world training and dancing at : Royal Winnipeg Ballet Professional Division Alberta Ballet Professional Division Pacific Ballet Company, San Francisco, Janet Sassoon Ecole Superieure De Ballet Du Quebec, (Les Grande Ballets Canadiens) Pacific Northwest Ballet Theatre Paragon Productions, Tokyo & Nagoya Japan Philippine Arts and Dance Simon Fraser University Contemporary Dance Program.

Additionally she has studied dance/art history, nutrition, anatomy and dance injury prevention. Devoted to share her incredible love and respect for the art of ballet, Denise teaches a clear understanding of ballet technique and artistic development to inspire her dancers grace, strength and beauty.
